Awareness of aches and pains
an excerpt from Live Beautifully: A Book to Sit With, by Doris Wedige
Reflections on navigating...
Just as a ship has gauges that are indicators for the captain to determine adjustments that need to be made in order to stay on course for the charted journey, so too do we have gauges that indicate whether we are staying on course. Our body is a fine-tuned machine that gives us feedback if we are willing to listen. If you feel tension building in your neck, pay attention. You are going off course. Think of it as a red flashing light on a submarine warning its crew of a collision if they don’t adjust their course. What emotion preceded the pain in your neck? What circumstances were you experiencing? Did you bring acceptance to the situation, or were you stressed because you wanted things to be different from what they were? Did anxiety, stress and negativity cut you off from making the choice to Live Beautifully? Did your fearful reaction to a circumstance lead to your discomfort? Pay attention. You are the captain of your vessel. Pay attention to what your gauges are telling you. Your body will give you the feedback to know when you are going adrift as well as it will tell you when you are smooth sailing. Bon voyage! |
I intend to be aware of Guidance.
