THE UPPER AND LOWER REALM ILLUSTRATIONS
Tools for discerning the contrast between fear/separation and Love/Divine Union.
As I've travelled along on my Journey there have been times that I felt wonderful and times that I felt downright horrible. It seems that progress on the Journey requires traveling a path with many ups and downs. As I trudged along, I began to discern between the highs of living with Love and the lows of living with fear. I call living with Love the Upper Realm and living in fear the lower realm. Gradually my concept of the Upper and lower realms has been further divided into mind, body and spirit. |
Upper/Lower Realm MindWhen my thoughts are accepting, peaceful and optimistic I experience the mindful stillness and creative thinking of the Upper Realm.
But when my thoughts are fearful, I experience the stressful chaotic thinking of the lower realm. |
Upper/Lower Realm BodyWhen I make choices that are based on Upper Realm thoughts, I experience the physical comforts of the Upper Realm (a body of Function and Ease).
When I make choices based on lower realm thinking, I experience physical discomfort, pain, dis-ease and dys-function. |
When I choose a state of being that is against or opposed, I experience a lower realm spirit. I once thought that my state of Being was naturally a reflection of what was going on around me. If I was in a lower realm situation, I felt justified being worried, angry, resentful, offended, or defensive. I have come to know that I can wisely choose an Upper Realm spirit of Acceptance in lower realm situations.

I took this picture at the dock when I was camping last summer. The waters of the lake are in a constant state of change much like myself. Sometimes things are all churned up and turbulent and the waters are dark and scary and other times things have a way of settling down, clarity sets in and I reflect the Light so beautifully.
