  the guidance system

​I am engaged in an on-going practice of seeking Awareness

of the Loving Guidance

that is screaming at me
​
​to take my hand off of the hot stove...

​a.k.a. suffering

REFLECTIONS ON FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS…


I
have been confused

by the difference

between

feelings and emotions.  


I’ve come to use the words

in this way:

​
​my feelings are awareness of energies, 

including my emotions. ​​

If I was to say,

“I am feeling angry,”
​


it’s like saying:
​
​"I am aware 

that I am experiencing 

the energy of anger." ​​

​When I use the word  
‘feelings’


I am referring to awareness of  sensory perceptions,

​ including being aware of energies

in the form of emotions. 



Emotions are the guidance.
​


Feelings are awareness

of the guidance system. 


My feelings are awareness
​

of the energies that are present. ​

​​If I have been overwhelmed

by what I have felt,
​


it may be that I decided

to shut myself off from feeling.



When this is the case,

I have cut myself off

from awareness of loving guidance


and I may find myself

adrift, 
tired and fearful

of drowning
​

from the enormity of it all.

REFLECTIONS ON FEELING BAD AND FEELING GOOD…
​

For a long time I foolishly labeled feelings as ‘bad.’  

When I sensed low energies,  I judged them to be ‘bad.’    

I’ve slowly come to realize that all feelings are beneficial.  
 

I have the option of being aware of ‘bad feelings’
as a push to move and change

and
​
guide me out of the old ways
​that no longer serve me. ​

f I were to imagine myself

extending my hand

towards a hot stove,

increasingly feeling the discomfort
and
eventually the pain ​and suffering of my choice,


I could embrace my suffering

as a blessing in a grand design

that is meant to protect me from harm

and guide me 

toward making 
a healthier, ​more loving choice. ​

The closer I get to the stove,

the more the sensations are intensified.


​
If I were to put my hand

on the hot stove it would burn.


​
I would suffer,

​ not just emotionally

​but physically as well.  ​

am slowly shifting into

 embracing painful 'feelings'

as loving guidance

urging me to change my choice. 


I may be uncomfortable,

I may hurt,

I may suffer,


​but I am lovingly being guided

to examine the choices
​

​I am making. ​

W
hen I ignore guidance

at the emotional stage
​
and continue to make a choice

​that is poised for change,

the guidance becomes more intense.



It becomes tension in my jaw,

my back wound tight,

​or a ‘bad’ external circumstance. ​
The guidance starts with my feeling

a gentle uncomfortable emotion. 



If I don’t change my course, 

the pain and suffering will intensify until I learn the lesson. 


The lessons are all about choosing ever-higher vibrational frequency choices.

Guidance seems to come
in many forms,
but I most readily sense it
in the form of feelings.


Sometimes I have a sense of ‘knowing’
or a sense of being ‘pushed’
or ‘pulled’ in a direction. 

​
Sometimes I ‘see’ or ‘hear’ guidance
or I may also see a ‘sign.’  
​
Anything that isn’t aligned with Truth eventually irritates me.  It’s my guidance that something doesn’t belong.   

Kind of like when a popcorn hull is stuck between my teeth.

It irritates me until I remove it. 

​Feeling irritated is Nature's guidance system that's warning me
that something needs to change.

REFLECTIONS ON CLARITY…

M
y level of clarity
is correlated to my level of awareness.  


When there is upheaval in my garden
the suffering can be so intense
and yet I can have no awareness of it. 

Everything just seems to be happening
to me 
as a result of someone else’s choices.  

Making the space in my life
for a daily devotion
of reflection and journaling is 
essential for awareness.

OPTIONS FOR EMBARKING ON THE JOURNEY ​

Practice developing awareness of emotions and energies by watching tv.  
Sit and observe the emotional expressions of the characters.   
Practice being aware of emotions and putting language to it.  "I see that person experiencing the energy of anger."  "I see that person experiencing the energy of joy."   Oberve.   Language.   Observe.   Language.  Resist the temptation to analyze and form opinions about the story.   This is just a practice in being aware of energies and of lanuaging the awareness.    By writing complete sentences you force yourself to slow down and be in the present moment.
