Awareness of doubt

an excerpt from Live Beautifully:  A Book to Sit With, by Doris Wedige

Reflections on changes...
I feel my life shifting.  There are changes on the horizon.  Things are happening that look like losses, but that may just be my limited perspective.  Maybe they aren’t losses but things that need to move out of the way for the new to come in.  When we intend for something new to come into our lives, we need to accept that change is inevitable.  “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”
My dear friend called this week and offered a bit of wisdom.  She said our habits are like paths through the forest.  If we want to let go of old ways, we must blaze a new trail.  And then keep taking that new trail.  If we leave the old trail alone, it will soon grow over with vegetation and become a thing of the past.  But, if we occasionally take the old path, it will remain open and continue to be a part of our life.
I want to make a new path.  Not just for myself but for others to use as well.  I want to mark the trail with signs that lead the people who come to this trail; signs of direction, signs of inspiration, signs of encouragement.
Walk with me my friends as we blaze a new trail.  Hand in hand with the courage to live in a new way.  Let’s choose the path of Love, Peace, and Compassion.  Let’s choose to live with Grace.
We will leave behind the old path that was plagued with so many nasties—fear, doubt, indecision, neglect, worry and judgment.  We will leave those on the old path to be overgrown and forgotten.
It’s a new day.  I extend my hand to you my friend; please join me on this journey.
